Apply for Membership

How to Join
Membership of the ASA is open to subscriptions agents, sales agents, information intermediaries and other organisations providing products and services within the professional and scholarly information supply chain. We also offer Associate (Publisher) Membership to Publishers - please see below.

Full Membership is available to companies engaged in the above activities which have an annual turnover of £1,000,000 or more. Membership is corporate and includes all wholly owned subsidiaries of the member company. Fees for Full Membership are determined by the annual turnover of each organisation (full details in the application form, below).

Associate Membership is available to companies engaged in the above activities which have an annual turnover of less than £1,000,000, and to all other organisations engaged in the subscription industry, for example publishers, library associations and professional and trade associations.

Associate (Publisher) Membership is open to publishers active in the professional, learned and scholarly information sectors. Associate Publisher Members are expected to be supportive of the aims of the ASA and its members and are required to sign up to the ASA's Library Choice initiative. Again, membership is corporate not individual and is renewed in January of each year.

To apply for membership, please select the appropriate application form below and follow the instructions therein.

Next Steps
Membership applications are reviewed by the ASA's Executive Committee, in consultation with the wider membership. Once your application is accepted, we will send you an invoice and, once this is paid, a certificate of membership which many of our members find enhances their business standing, for example during tender bids.

All members also receive the member version of our monthly newsletter, ASA News. Non-publisher members can create their own entry within the Directory of ASA Members. Full Members are also entitled to access the resources within the Members Area of the ASA website.
