ASA 2002 Conference

Electronic Journals - Solutions in Sight?

Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 February 2002

BMA House
Tavistock Square
London WC1H 9JP

Electronic journals are now in widespread use throughout the world. Both their content and the means of access are becoming increasingly sophisticated and more matched to the needs of the users. Considerable progress has, and continues to be made in linking, technology, licensing, usage statistics, new means of purchasing and access - but for all this many challenges still remain. These are often at the 'nuts and bolts' end of the business such as acquisition and access issues. This conference will focus on the solutions required to meet and overcome these remaining challenges and to review the many positive recent developments in the field. In order to ensure the conference focuses on the practical, there are high level contributions from the research and education communities as well as librarians, consortia, intermediaries and publishers.
